Greetings - and thanks in advance for your help.

We are having problems with our shower's cold water supply. We have a Sterling brand single control (looks like this one: Sterling Plumbing - Site Map (http://www.sterlingplumbing.com/onli...21_022_023.pdf))

Here's the history: recently we found that when we turned the shower on, we got nearly all hot water and no cold. When we dialed the control back towards "off" we would hear a "thunk" sound and then would have cold water. Dialing to a mid-setting then provided appropriate temperature.

In the last week, the water was shut off at the source from the street due to construction in the community. After that, we get no cold water to the shower at all and the little trick used before does not work. Other faucets and showers in the house work properly, so we know this is not the hot water heater or cold water input.

We have disassembled the control but find nothing that appears out of the ordinary. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Sorry, I see that my link did not work properly

It's just the specs on the control device we have... positemp I believe is the name - turns to the right for off, progressively to the left for cold (supposed to, anyway!) and then hot.

Thanks!
