Vehicle ran fine yesterday, full gas tank and battery is up.
Turn signals were not working, so a friend took out each fuse in both fuse box and replaced them after a visual inspection.
After the fuse inspection, the vehicle will crank, but not start.
Have since reset the "rollover switch" for the fuel pump, and switched the fuel pump fuse with the horn fuse to make sure it was OK, and it tested OK, so it's back where it belongs, but vehicle still cranks but will not start.
The "theft" lamp in the dash flashes with the ignition off, and continues to flash at the same rate with the ignition on. It does not go into the normal lighted and then off sequence that it should.
Does the PAT system allow cranking but not starting??
Is it possible that the key programming was lost by removing and replacing the fuses, and can it be reset without taking it to a Ford dealer?
Is it possible that the spare key (not available right now, but can be obtained later) might work?
Any help appreciated!
