Hi
I have an antique bath that has a lead pipe drain : but the lead at the p-trap has cooroded and had been patched poorly-leving the bath unusable. I would like to replace the lead piping to keep the authenticity but I'm open to options. Looks to be a 2 inch internal diameter
Questions:
Can it be repaired?
Can I get a PVC lead adaptor? (most of the pvc will be below ground floor anyway.I have attached a few photgraphs.
Is working with lead a lost art?
Should I replace all with PVC or some other alternative.

Regards

Where the lead connects to the cast iron you will find a ferrell where the wipe joint was finished. Cut the pipe leaving 3/4 of the ferrell and use a 2" x 1 1/2: fernco rubber couple to add 1 1/2" pvc pipe.
