Hello,
I used a jackhammer to move the shower drain 16 inches from the corner wall. I need to move the drain, I thought the drain could be easily moved along the pipe. The drain pipe is actually going straight down, another pipe which I thought I could move the drain does not appear to connect to the drain pipe. This pipe appears to come close to the drain pipe, but goes straight down. How should I move the shower drain to the 16 inch position without causing a problem?

The pipe going straight down is called a raiser and it connects into the trap. You're going to have to cut out the trap and repipe it to where you wish the drain to install. Avoid using 90 degree elbos if possible. Use 45's or DWV sweeps instead. Good luck, Tom
