I'm not sure you've got the right question down here... 4 can't equal 10. Is that a typo, or is that what they gave you?

Typo:
It's probably 3x+4=10 or 3x=10+4
Because + and = share the same key on the keyboard
and 3x=10+4 doesn't make much sense, I'd solve

Well then.
You want to get the x by itself, and you need to do the same thing to each side at the same time.
3x+4, it's easy to get rid of the 4. Just subtract it, but remember to do it from the other side, too.
3x+4-4=10-4
So, 3x=6
Now, to get X by itself, just divide each side by that 3 next to.
3x/3=6/3
x=__
