My washer started making some weird noise for a few washes ago and now won't agitate or spin. I turned it over and found ground up rubber on the floor and part of a rubber part with a hole in the middle that looks like it was between the motor and the part that turns the agitator and basket because there is nothing there now and residue of the part around the area.

Looks like a simple part, was wondering if anyone knows what part it is and if its worth having a repairman come out and fix it.

It is the coupler. It is located between the motor and the transmission. Part is less than $20 and a simple fix.
