I have a snapper lt12 and I just bought a new solendoid for it. I have it wired up just like the book says and when I try to connect the battery it sparcks and starts smoking. If you know how to help me please email me. [email protected]

Be sure you are connecting the positive to the positive post. I think you are saying that the wire is smoking at the battery, correct? A spark may be o.k. but not an extreme spark, or arc, but just a small spark is o.k.
