I sold a house using Kansas Contract for Deed.
The buyer is several payments behind. I have paid taxes because buyer fail to do so.

How do I reclaim this property?

Hello 53:

You have to do whatever your contract says you can do. I'm sure it says something about it. That's why you entered into it - to protect you. If not, I'd sue the person who wrote it.

First check you state laws regarding CFD. An Affidavit of Forfeiture will have to be filed. The forfeiture period is determined by the amount of equity that the buyer has in the property. A title company might be able to do this for you, but I would advise hiring a good real estate attorney to insure that all is done properly.
