Somehow, the files in "My Documents" , and "My Pictures" have all been deleted. All of my word documents are gone as well. I have restored my computer back to a different date and that didn't work. I have also checked my recycle bin. Anyone able to help? I am running Windows XP

I would suggest that you first do a search in the start menu for a particular item that you know should be in your computer. If the item is found, then you should be able to see where it is located.

Edensmimi, maybe you need rely on a data recovery software to deal with the issue. Take a try Wondershare Data Recovery (http://www.wondershare.com/data-recovery/index.html), a program I ever tried. It may unable to recover all the files, but may find some as there are many factors affecting the results.

Remember - Do NOT try & write anything back(in case overwritten) to the disk concerned until you can recover your files safely!
