I would suggest you go buy a hpt. They aren't real expensive, you could just buy the dollar store brand if you wanted. OPK's detect LH, and HPTs detect HCG. From my understand on this,(and I could be wrong, so some of you girls might correct me on this) LH is always present in your system, but just in smaller amounts. When you ovulate, you have a larger surge of LH and that is what OPKs look for. SO, if you are using a more sensitive OPK its possible that is it just registering your lower levels on LH. Its important to remember that none of these tests are completely accurate, all having some margin of error. Again, I might be wrong on this, but LH and HCG have some of the same base components, so in theory I suppose its possible for a OPK to pick up HCG and register it, HOWEVER, I think that would have to be a pretty rare case. You are MUCH better off getting an hpt and checking with that. As I said, they are formulated to search for two different hormones...

I too would suggest getting a HPT if you think you are pregnant.

Make sure you are reading the results rights. You have the control line and then the result line... ONLY a result line that is the SAME or DARKER than the control line is a positive result. If the result line is absent or lighter than the control line... the result is NEGATIVE.

While most women will only get a max of 3 positives (one on the way up, one during, and one on the way down)... it is not uncommon to get many positives. You really don't need to worry about how many you get after your first positive, I mean once you get your first positive, you can quit testing... you know you should ovulate in the next 12-48 hours. You may still be getting positives if your hormone level remains high for awhile and just hasn't dropped off yet.

But... from a fellow ovualtion test user ;) I have read that multiple positive results can mean pregnancy because your LH will stay high.

****whoa whoa... just glanced up... ATTN! This was posted in early September!! I would assume the OP already has her answer...
