Hi,

About a week ago, the paint on the base of our shower stall in the master bathroom started "bubbling" and we were able to start to peel it off. We were told that the previous owners probably painted it just before they put the house on the market to sell. That was 3years ago.

My questions are should we repaint, and if so, what kind of paint do we use? Where can we buy it? Are there contractors who do this type of work? Bathfitters wanted $5,000 to do the job! YIKES! Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Id call a carpenter, I've never been a fan of bathfitters. All the jobs I've personally seen looks like the inside of a trailer. Cheap plastic, sorry but that's my opinion.
If you just want to paint then call a painter.

Your bound to find someone in the phone book,
What my company does is this, I'm a carpenter but I also paint , as well as trim, plumming, electrical and so on, there are others who do the same, id try and find them so you only call one person, good luck

If you just want to fix it yourself, prime the peeling area with a good primer, you'll also need to use some sheetrock mud to smooth out the ridges left from the peeled paint, put a 2 to 3 coats of mud on and sand it, reprime that area and repaint
