Yesterday, my kitten was dead after I came home, and looked like he had been wet, then dried. I had no idea of what happened because before I left for school, he was playing with his toys when I let him in.What happened? Other kittens that I was caring for as well have died, and I had no idea how. Nothing had attacked either my kitten or the group, and I am absolutely stumped. Could they have been poisoned? What happened? Help!:(

Your story sounds very fishy my dear. Sounds like there is something going on in your house that you don't know about (it sounds like your kitten was drowned and then taken out of the water) that would account for looking wet then dried. You had better start asking people you live with what's going on.

I at first was thinking there may have been an attack from a dog, that killed then chewed on the kitten until it was satisfied, then left it lying. But I am thinking there is someone in the house that just doesn't much like cats/kittens.

Your kittens death may not have been as malicious as everyone thinks. Kittens who have respiratory trouble or something lodged in their throats- being curious kittens- will sweat profusely and being that the kitten may have done this hours before you had gotten home... it could have air dried. I live at a dead end road and people are CONSTANTLY dropping off kittens, and several stray litters have had major respiratory infections and have died with the same 'look' that your poor kitten had. Hope this helps. Cats, especially younger kittens are highly sucseptible to respiratory infections. Sorry to hear you lost your kitten.
