I am remodeling my bathroom. I want to move my toilet across the room to where I currently have a vanity and two sinks. I plan to move the two sinks to the right, cut off part of the vanity (it is about 8 feet long), and install the toilet where the left sink is now.

It is a two story house, built in 1999. I believe that the drainpipe will be of sufficient diameter to accommodate the toilet, because it currently handles two sinks, and there is most likely one common drain going down to ground level...

Any comments would be appreciated... mike

If you're planing on using the lavatory drain line to pick up your toilet you're out of luck. Your lavatory frains are only 2" and you will need at least three inches to pick up a toilet. Why not send us a drawing of how the bath is configured and what you wish to move. We can then advise you better. Good luck, Tom

You are going to need to open the floor and possible the wall to make this change. It may also affect your vent stack so Tom will be a great resourse to you. Many homeowners will call in a plumber to do the rough in and then do the finish work themselves.
