My son is 5 and he is getting the croup every couple of months. It seems to be getting worse and last night we need to go to the hospital where they gave him a shot so he could breath. Can the croup be related to his tonsils? Should I see an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor? I'm not sure what to do so any information would be greatly appreciated.

Croup can be brought on by cold night air-it causes a restriction in the bronchus giving the sound of a seal bark-it is very stressfull for parent and child-good work getting your child asap to the hospital!
Try this, you need a vapouriser- it uses about a cup of water and it diffuses the vapour into the air of the child's room.
Being Aussies we put eucalyptus oil into the water before vapourising-croup has not been a issue for years for us now. Our son used to suffer terribly.
