How would you simplify this equation in the attached document below:

I have tried to make 9^x=3^2x then from I don't have a 3^x, so I can't LET Y be anything...

I have a suspicion that the equation you're trying to simplify has several typos in it. For example, for the numerator you have:


3^x - 3\times 5^x + 4.


I'm wondering if this shouldn't have been:


3^{2x} - 5 \times 3^x +4


Please check both the numerator and denominator of the equation as you wrote it and let us know if it's in error.
