Hi, I am around 5 weeks pregnant and today have experienced spooting or bleeding, I don't know the difference as when I have a look on the internet I can't find anything to help. I had little pink lines of blood when I had been to the toilet and wiped myself, tahts the only time I get the bleeding or spotting?
Please could you tell me if it's bleeding or spotting and if it's something I should worry about, I have slight cramps throughout the day, not just with the bleeing.
Thank you x

Contact your doctor right away. While it may be perfectly normal for you, it could be cause for concern. Only your doctor can tell you for sure.

Spotting in early pregnancy is common, and usually goes away after a while. I personally only spotted for maybe two or three days, and then it was gone. But, if it turns into anything worse than spotting, you need to see your doctor. :)

This could also be an indication of an early miscarriage. Notice the word CRAMPS...
NS, this is not your usual type of advice. You know as well as I do that only her doctor can give her the definite diagnosis. We cannot diagnose over the internet.
To be sure it is only spotting and nothing more serious will come of it, you must see your doctor.
NS, may be right, but without an exam we can't be sure.

I agree. I was giving my experience and I know that my body is not the same as everyone else's.
It could be nothing, then again it could be signs of a miscarriage like J_9 said, but the only way to know for sure is to see your doctor. If it is nothing, at least your mind will be at ease and you will feel better having gone to the doctor.

I agree with J_9 and NS. Anytime you experience spotting or bleeding during pregnancy, even if it is light, always call your doctor. It might be nothing but it is always better to be safe. Your doctor knows you and your body better then anyone on this site, he/she can check you out and make sure your body and your baby are doing okay.
For me, I did have slight brown discharge around 6 weeks that lasted for about 3 days. It was normal for me, but I did contact my doctor to just to safe.
I hope everything is okay and keep us posted.

Tuesday night I had like a pink spotting but just before I went to bed it turned to a bleeding, I thought this might me normal so went to bed. I woke up Wednesday morning and went to the toilet to discover I was bleeding like I was having a period only with big clots of blood in. Me and my boyfriend wnet to the hospital and told them what had been happening. We were seen to really quick! They had to take a urine test which came back negative so they then took a blood test and that came back possitive so I had to have a internal which discovered I had had an early miscariage. The amount of pregnancy hormone that was in my blood was only at 22 and it should be in it's thousands. I have an appointement at the gnea ward on fri if I'm still bleeding as that may indicate something else. I'm OK I have my family and friends who are all supporting me and my boyfriend really well.
Thanks for all your help x

Thanks, I went for my final bloodtest today and the pregnancy hormone has decreased a lot since Wednesday so I have to have a lot of bed rest and relax and just phone the number I have been given if I have any trouble x
