Is there such a thing as tap water containing mold from a house's pipes? I have been trying to eliminate causes of some medical symptoms but have not been able to find much information on water mold.

Also, if tap water can contain mold, is there a test for this and can it be removed from the pipes/source?

Thanks.

Tap Water is chlorinated - you can check with your local water jurisdiction on exact concentration, so I find it highly unlikely that your water has mold or other bacteria. If you want to be sure, then take a sample and have it analyzed. Most analysis look for many types of bacteria and give break outs for the different ones.

Your local health inspection office should be able to point you in the right direction for detailed water tests.
