I'm in my last year of skool and lately have been feeling really depressed and unmotivated about my school work. I've started to leave nearly every assignment to the night before it is due and I hate the school environment. I'm not sure on what I want to do when I leave school... whether I want to go to uni/college or stay where I am and get a job... so I have nothing to look forward to when I leave school... could this possible be the reason I'm feeling so depressed about my schooling??

Yes, it could be the reason. When you graduate, you will be going into unknown territory for your life. I had a great deal of mental and emotionally difficulty my last two years of high school. I know that part of the reason that I was having a hard time was because I was trying to figure out what would happen with my life when I graduated.

But, you know what? You've come this far already. So, why not make it a great ending in spite of the fact that you're not sure about the future. No matter what you do after you graduate, whether it be just to go to work or to continue with your schooling, how you have done in school is going to really matter to a potential employer and/or the college or university where you attend.

You can do this. It is a choice that you make. It's hard being where you are in life right now.

You are welcome for my answer! Hopefully, others will come along to answer too.

If you have the means and also the grades to go to a college or university, then I really encourage you to do that. It can be a real eye opener as well as an opportunity to make new friends and contacts, as well as a place to try out things that you can't do until you are in that setting.

If you choose to just enter the workforce after graduating, there is nothing wrong in doing that either. It all depends on what would make you happy and have a fulfilling life for yourself.

The choice is yours. If you need help in deciding what to do, there are many, many people who would be willing to help you to decide.

Hang in there, some people seem like they have to have their life planned before they get out of school, not true. They go to a 4 year college and can't even get a job with a degree. Relax and don't stress life goes on,talk to your counselor and look into things that really matter to you.good luck!

Its hard though because I have like no interest in anything lol... that might sound stupid but its true... I don't have any really "calling" to do one particular career/job and everyone is expecting me to do well and go to uni and stuff like that because my sister didn't and "im the smarter one" and all this... *shrugs and falls in a heap* thanks for all your support anyway...
