Won't charge? Is this via the mains charger AND the USB cable? Have you tried a friends charger? Maybe you could take the IPOD to a local shop and they can try a new charger. I had a problem where the charger had packed up. Ebay resolved that problem.

How old is it? iPods had a notorious problem with poor-quality batteries that degraded to the point of useless over a few years. (and that it wasn't easy to replace batteries yourself, so there was a big mess trying to get a new battery).

I think this is fixed in newer ipods.

Hmm, I would guess it's a duff charger then. Do you charge it often? The less often you charge it, the less likely it is to be the battery.

Do a WEB search on ipod batteries, there are news stories about them that might help.
