Recently, we had a problem with power shutting off to some things in the house, and they would come on without touching the breaker. Electrician looked at circuit box, all was good, told me must be either electric meter pan, or on pole, call Electric company. They came over and said meter pan was 20 minutes from catching on fire. Had electrician come back and upgrade all electric from 100 to 200 amp service, new meter, new circuit box, new wire to pole, etc. When power was restored, everything worked, including Central a/c unit, but temp wouldn't get low enough to shut off. Then house started feeling warm again, went over to thermostat and temp was higher than setting but wouldn't and still doesn't go on. What can be the problem?

Check fuses for the outside unit.
