My Air Conditioner went out at 1:oo today (saturday) I can fix it myself as it is my control transformer that is out. I need to know where I can find one on a weekend. Who sells them and what do I ask for. All I know is it is a 24 volt control transformer for a central air unit, but again, where do I find one?

Radio Shack did carry them. Haven't been in for a while but check them out. Also someone on this forum mention they seen or got one at Lowe's but I've never seen them there. Look at your transformer Is it 120/24?

It's a 24 volt if that helps, I checked at Lowe's they didn't act like they'd ever heard of one, but it sounded like a kid I talked to. I'll call again. What do I ask for when I call radio shack or Lowe's so they might know what I'm talking about?

If yours is a 120 volt, ask for a 120 volt primary 24 volt secondary transformer
