Recently whenever we shut off any faucet in the house sometimes there is a squealing sound (1-2 seconds). Happens also when dishwasher or washing machine stops. Haven't noticed it with the toilets however. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Is it on hot water only? This is a good question.

No, does it on both hot or cold.

It does it sometimes, and the toilets are fine... Has any plumbing fixes occurred before this happened, or have you shut off the water recently?

Nope, have had no plumbing fixes done. The house is 10 years old. I haven't shut off the water recently, although about a month ago I did turn the shutoff valve a few times just to make sure it hasn't seized in place (have had that happened before at another house).
