I'm a us citizen and I married my husband while he had a tourist visa. We have a lawyer for the immigration process and what not. I really don't understand all these paper works. His visa had just recently expired and he hasn't received his work permit and we haven't had our first interview, yet. However, the marriage is already starting to fall apart! I really do love him and we've tried to work things out but I just can't deal with his childish acts and very irresponsible..! What can I do at this point? I mean I don't want to deport him I still care about him but we're just two different people!? Please help!!

Unfortunately since you are sponsoring him if you divorce he must leave the country. That is unless he can get a work permit on his own.

There really is no way around this law other than him claiming abuse (but this law is generally designed to prevent violence against women so he has little chance of using it, plus it makes you look bad and would be a terrible solution)

In the end there is no way for him to remain in the US without a sponsor and you can't sponsor an ex.
