LMAO, Al... Now the one I am talking about with my sister was oh, 33 years ago. I don't have a local Catholic church here, and I had to go 7 days a week growing up, so I believe I served my time.

Maybe it's just me but dayquil never worked for me, during the day I just took nyquil and that usually did the trick of relieving pain... another thing would be comfort food, food can satisfy the soul and body...
curlybenswife
Aug 23, 2007, 01:18 AM
Ah comfort foods only good wiz if you aren't the one making it ;)
J_9
Aug 23, 2007, 04:49 AM
NyQuil just puts me to sleep, and with kids and studying and all, DayQuil is necessary.
And yes comfort food, if I had an appetite I would eat some. If I had some energy I would make some.

Good Morning crew!
I have a newbie question. Why did the Santa thread totally disappear? I know Scottgem had recommended it be closed, but why is it completely gone? I wanted to see what else our friend had to say.
It was weird how he went from being all Christian like to nasty personal attacks.
J_9
Aug 23, 2007, 06:47 AM
Em, it has been temporarily deleted pending a review, and our "friend" is taking a short time out. You see, after I logged off last night he began attacking other members using some not so nice, vulgar even, language. I'll leave it at that.

Yes, I know I am not there to see it. I realize they work very hard to make this all happen, I am thankful for that.
I am fine, I slept in till 8:15 and I feel refreshed. I had yesterday off and tday and tomorrow and all the way until next weekend! Two whole weeks of just my kids and 6 days with just the hubby... Wow, it has been a long summer. I feel like we missed it. I am good though. Getting rest and ready for school and daycare when I get back! HOW ARE YOU?
The boys? A long story to tell you the thruth, still in my care for day time though.

My comfort food is pizza... so all you have to do is dial the phone lol.
Believe it or not I had a really good sleep, mainly because my alarm didn't go off, and I have missed my sociology class... which is just spectacular.
So I'm just kind of wandering around the house, I emailed my instructor and explained my situation, but yeah it just sucks that this happens... I guess I'll take my frustration out on the alarm clock...

wizzkid89
Aug 23, 2007, 11:58 AM
Well I'm going to try to have this not affect the rest of my day as I have two more classes left, and then I'm off till Monday. It really was one of those "oh sh*t" wake ups, wear the minute you get it up, you look at the clock, and a bomb goes off in your head and your trying to figure out what happened and basically panicking around the house lol. All I can do now, is hope to contact her at the end of class, and hope she got my email
Well the reason I wanted to call, is that on her site she said her email is erratic, and not to depend on it...

Yeah, I figured, I'm just a bit overwhelmed. I don't really have very many close friends in town, so I'm left with my sisters and my mother right now... and I really don't have much interest in talking to mom, as she is part of my recent issues...
I had a horrible day yesterday and managed to piss of Thomas (although it was partially his fault) so he isn't really keen on talking to me at the moment.
I will have to give my good friends in Colorado or Nashville a call I guess. I don't really have many friends with families yet though, so its hard for them to understand sometimes. I'm just hoping it is a temporary gloom and the cloud will move on soon. :) thanks for the kind words though.

Al Sweetie, just remember this too shall pass. You are under a lot of stress right now with the new job opportunities and all that it entails, not to mention your hormones are WAY out of the norm and that stress is just not helping.

With babies, I think the babies get frustrated with us so much when we cannot understand what is wrong with them.:)
Maybe they think that we know what's wrong and we are not helping them...
How irritating can that be for the poor dears...

Poor Millie. I hope she lets you get some sleep soon.
I learned something new today. Untreated UTIs during pregnancy are the #1 reason for preterm births and low birth weight babies.
No math test today, they gave us a day's grace period. We get to take it tomorrow afternoon. YAY!!
Well, got to start studying all my drugs and the first 6 chapters now.

Well, all, I think I F'd up my math test. Page one was a breeze, page three was even easier. But page 2. OMG, I totally screwed the pooch on that one!!
I had to convert pounds to kilograms. I multiplied the pounds by 2.2 rather than dividing. DUH, J, how stooooopid can you be?
Stuipd, yeah, cause I have a TI86 that does the freaking calculations for me, but I didn't use it!! Hell, I calculate kg and pounds here almost daily WITHOUT the calculator, (it hasn't had batteries all summer).
Out of 25 questions I think I missed 4 or 5. I had to get an 80% to pass. Oh, well, no big deal. If I didn't pass it only counts as a quiz grade and I get to take it over. Yes, the test they give for those who fail this one is identical. So, oh well, I'm still going to be in nursing school either way.
Rae cheered her first football game today. Brighton Cardinals (us) won 38 - 6. YAY RAE!!

curlybenswife
Aug 30, 2007, 02:29 AM
Fb I was so angry yesterday I could have flipped that dr I took her to at the out of hours totally misdiagnosed her :( the poor little mite has been really not herself and I found yesterday her ear was full of crusty stuff and dried blood :( and I saw blood by her bloody pillow Monday morning when I had to strip it down because she was sick and that out of hours dr didn't pick it up so I've been treating her for a virus when she quite obviously needed bloody anti b's.

alkalineangel
Aug 30, 2007, 07:41 AM
Lol.. I've been weepy all morning too, so I feel like IM just made of fluid... Connor has been giving me a hell of a time with daycare. Esp. this morning. I really am at a loss as to what I should do. He used to love it there and was so excited and he used to get great marks, and now since they moved him to the preschool level, he has completely changed. I don't know whether to be worried at the sudden change of character, or write it off as him having an issue with the new rules.. he is learning fine, he's been writing his letters and his name and he seems to enjoy the curriculum and gets excited about the homework we do at home, but he never wants to go back there. He says he doesn't like it there anymore. He got a new teacher a couple months back and she is a bit stricter, and is basically preparing them for school, which aI like, but I just don't know how to take his sudden change in behavior. He was always so good, listened well, did what he was told, and now he is acting out and getting into trouble at school despite our talks with him. Its so frustrating. I spent 20 minutes with him while he bawled at daycare asking me not to leave trying to get him to tell me why... :( now I feel guilty for leaving him there... I've heard this is a warning sign, but I have never had an issue there in 3 years. I just don't understand.

Aug 30, 2007, 07:47 AM
Poor connor poor you, I don't honestly know what to suggest but I'm sure j will have a few words of wisdom there.

Yes, a sweet time. I just started a new one with a continued at the end... I hope I didn't f-up. I will erase it if he wants to do it differently, no biggie I hope. Al, I hope you and Connor come to a conclusion, I guess the best thing to do is ask the other parents if their kids are doing the same thing? Then maybe go from there. I took Maxy out after two months of daycare, the first time I went to work in the daytime, Jett did OK, but Maxy wouldn't eat the whole time he was there, nor drink, so I would ask the parents if they see a change, it may be the new teacher! Hug to all of you, hope you are doing well!

Aug 30, 2007, 04:11 PM
Start, you see... I have exams every two weeks on Mondays. I will be having 12 hour clinical rotations on Thursdays that includes a butt load of paperwork/homework, that is due on Monday morning at 8:59 sharp, not a minute later.
Now, to have classes all week, well really just Monday and Wednesday, study on Tuesday and get clinical paperwork ready to take with me on Thursday...
OMG, you'd probably pass out if you saw the schedule they passed out today.
Immediately after going over the schedule and the paperwork one student asked if we could take a break just to decompress. LOL
The instructor said that this is the most paperwork we will be doing in nursing school and to take it, literally, one day at a time.
I will love Labor & Deliver, Mother-Baby, NICU, and female surgery, but oh the work that goes into it just so that we can prove we can chart legally.

I can understand why there is a nursing shortage after hearing that schedule!
My sister in law is an RN, but she works as a lactation consultant - less stress she says.

Man, to only be a lactation consultant would be wonderful!!
I did not even give HALF of the schedule. I left out family obligations such as going to Rae's games when she cheers. I will have to miss ALL away games... Little J's soccer practice on Thursdays... Cooking... Cleaning... Helping with homework for the little ones...
My oldest turns 21 on September 13. Where will I be? In the hospital, delivering babies.
He thinks it is cool though that Mom will be delivering babies on the day that he was born, so that is AWESOME in my book.
Heck, he even has to schedule his wedding around Mom's nursing schedule. Does that suck or what!!

I can't wait till my kids are grown enough so I can do what I am supposed to do. What would that be? HUH? Anyone know? CBW probably knows, she always does. Hope you guys have a great night. Hugs, and J, if it means anything, it won't kill them to live for you once in a while. It simply won't!

I J, if it means anything, it won't kill them to live for you once in a while. It simply won't!
Start, I don't mean to offend, really I don't. But you are a stay at home Mom. You can't begin comprehend what it means to miss a game or a practice. I was once a stay at home mom to my oldest two. So I can appreciate where you are coming from. But having to ship one kid to a friends, the other to the MIL, cause I am in school, hubby is working... etc.
My youngest two have to go to games... practices... and the like knowing that Mom and/or Dad can't attend.
No, it may not hurt them in the long run, but they are disappointed just the same.
I sat down with Rae this evening with our respective schedules. I get to attend every home game, but miss the away games. Dad can't go to away games due to the major expansion of our family business (from the size of a small gas station to the size of a Wal-Mart), and he is the only one who does his job. He simply can't get away.
You have heard the old addage... "You can't judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes." Well, I have been where you are, so I can see where you are coming from... But it does hurt them when we don't attend. For the past 5 years I have attended every single one of Rae's swim meets, this is the first time I can't attend something that is important to her.
You are right, it won't kill them, but in these impressive years, it is something that they will remember.

I was actually talking about your son making sure your schedule fits his Wedding plans, LOL. But you are right, I have chosen to wait till they are out to do something like you. We will see what that adds up too. I guess we all have to decide and I am under the impression that you and your kids are mighty close, you work hard and they are loving you the same. Yes, disappointment but with REWARDS for them and you. That is all I was saying sweet. So you go girl, like I said before and they will love you still with all their heart. MMMMMM that sounds so good, doesn't it?
EDIT:::::
One more thing, in the post above you have mentioned some pretty powerful and real things that are good, I just wanted to point them out. I have taken no offense to it and I think it is great that you guys have come this far, it shows, lot's of hard work and love. Hugs to you J...

Lol... you got to love how quickly they work. I love Connor to death when he's sick (sad as it sounds) because it's the only time he'll let me hold him for a while :) But I'll take him hyper an healthy any day.
