A female friend of mine really liked one of my male friends, so hooked them up with one another... but my guy friend got shipped to Iraq a few months later and realized he wanted to marry my female friend... well we live here in Florida... so she looked into a marriage by proxy... and had it completed... well she never left the state of Florida but it says she was married in Montana... now she is scared that she will get in trouble for it is illegal in the state of Florida... so my question is is what is the punishment for this?

There is no punishment, at the worst, they are not legally married, if they did not do it properly.

I would assume someone was from Montana ? I will guess the groom ?
But if it was legal there, and they both followed all the rules and it was recorded in that state, it is most likely a legal marriage ( assuming the groom knew about it and approved)

While seldom done any longer and not allowed in all states, it is allowed.
