This has been happening for a few years now... whenever I turn the fawcet on or off, for example, wherever my fingers get the pressure from turning the fawcet, they hurt with a burning sensation for a minute. Not just the fawcet, anything I touch with any force. Any ideas?

You could have some sort of neuralgia

Its worth going to a doctor. I have family members who have experienced neuralgia for several reasons including diabetes and chemo treatment. It could be a sign of something else if indeed that is what you're experiencing.
