It does depend on the state. But Usually all the A,B,C or D after the felony really means is how much time you could serve if convicted. Take Iowa for example a Class B Felony can land you up to 25yrs and a hefty fine. And a Class C Felony is up to 10yrs and no less than $1,000 fine. But its all up to what state you are charge in..
