Or Global Not Warming?

Today, Jacksonville, Florida, set a new record low temperature that's been in place since 1965. Today's low here was 64 F, which beat the old low of 65 F.

I think I'll break out my ski gear... and where's my mittens?:D

LOL, we had a record low here yesterday too. It was 81, the record low (I forgot when) was 87.

I actually spent some time outdoors yesterday. It was really nice.

Hey Captain! I didn't know we set a record low here in Jax. New info to me.. lol. Have you been noticing the T'storms that have been coming through? Sheesh! The back lot of my apartment complex flooded the other day, flooding the apartments and a couple of cars. Its ridiculous!

Yeah we are having the best snow season for years down under here. It is freezing. We also had our coldest summer day in over 100 years last December.

I hate snow with a passion! I am a tropical weather person.. lol.

So do I. I hate winter with a passion. I hate the cold. When I say it is freezing down here it is nothing compared to what you guys get. It is probably around 12 deg celsius. Not sure what that converts to in your terms.

We got lots of tropical areas down here though if you want to come for a visit. Head to Port Douglas or Cairns around this time of year for a really warm time. Plus you can swim on the Great Barrier Reef.

I have ALWAYS wanted to swim the Great Barrier Reef. It is on my to do list for the future :)

I'm sure you won't be disappointed. A helicopter ride over it is also an awesome experience.

That sounds like a lot of fun. There isn't much out of the ordinary to do here, except tour the Everglades.

Bring on the summer. 30 deg C plus...

It gets in the 90's here, and where I'm originally from (California) it can get up to 102 degrees! (not sure what that is in Celsius)

102 = 39

49 is a bit hot.

Yes when I'm in California I feel like I'm roasting.. lol. But I'd still rather take it over cold weather.

I've spent some time in New England, and I, for one, don't miss the frozen door locks and black ice! I can't remember when I last owned an icescraper!

But, I do miss the downhill skiing... ;-(

I went skiing once and fell on my butt too much. About a bruised butt and a million falls later, I decided I didn't want to ski anymore.. lol.

CaptainRich
Jul 23, 2007, 06:20 PM
Hey, skiing is fun! Like standing still, only faster!

Butt, I mean, but it's not how many times you fall; it's how many times you get up.. lol

I don't know why, but I have better balance ice skating than skiing. And its on the same type of surface, go figure.. lol.

But... surfing is MUCH more fun than skiing.

I tried surfing, once, with my son, years ago... I was younger then...

Every time I fell, water shot out my ears! Lol

Lol.. I know what you mean. What hurts the most is a huge amount of salt water up the nose. Ouch!

The waves were insane the other day with all of the storms that have been going on. They actually left me tired.
