I saw a movie about three or less weeks ago. I do not remember if it was on DVD or TV. It was about a father his 16 year old daughter and I believe 12-13 year old son who moved up state to be near their mom which was put into a mental health ward. This family moved into an older farm two story looking house that sat by itself. The was a small little bridge you had to cross to get to it.. I mean a Small bridge that just went over a ditch. The very beginning of the movie you see a young girl selling candy... she walks up to the house and knocks on the door. The door opens and she starts to talk to the person who opened it.. then she screams and you see her get grabbed by the neck into the house and obviously killed. Later that day the kids come home from school, then that evening the dad comes home. He brings the son some chocolates that he got... the Same box of candy the little girl was selling, the movie makes you think that he's the killer. Then it shows the daughter hearing noises in the house. She keeps getting creeped out. The next day the kids go to school and when they get home there is a Handy Man working on their house. He's putting plastic stuff on all the windows. They ask what he's doing, and he says, "Putting a double pain plastic on the house to help with heat/coolness." They say OK and go in the house. The daughter goes to make her brother a sandwich and there's one already made sitting on the counter. She can't figure out where it comes from. At night she keeps hearing noises, thinking that someone is in the attic. She tells the dad and he asks the handy man to check it out. They both go up there and see nothing. The dad and handyman think rats. All the sudden you see a rat run across the window, so that puts her fears to rest that someone is in the house. Later on in the movie the daughter loses her Journal which has very personal things in it. She ends up leaving it in the cafeteria. Her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend finds it and brings it to her. She promises that she didn't read it. Although when she walks away she goes and tells a bunch of girls that the one who lost her journal (the daughter) is a virgin and hasn't had sex with the popular guy yet... the one that found the journal ex-boyfriend. I THINK it was that night that the ex-girlfriend gets a note from her ex-man to meet at his new g/f house at night. The girl shows up and is in the trees looking towards the house. She's whispering her ex's name. She thinks that she can hear him, so she starts walking... next thing you know she gets grabbed by the neck and drops to the ground. The next day the son, daughter and her best friend are out front by the ditch.. the two girls are tanning. The boy walks to the ditch and sees something in the water... the best friend gets up to check it out. She reaches in the water and pulls in the thing. It's the ex-girlfriend! This same cop keeps showing up to the house thinking that the "New" neighbors have something to hide, cause since they moved in, people have been disappearing and now there's a dead body. The cop is kind of creepy. The daughter wakes up in the middle of the night to a noise. She wakes up to get her journal... opens her night stand drawer and it's missing. She automatically goes into her bothers room and starts yelling at him. When the dad comes in and breaks them up, he sends her back to her room. They go in and she tells him her journal is missing. He walks to the night stand, opens it, and there's the journal. This makes her think that she's starting to go crazy like her mom. Another night she hears a loud noise, she wakes up and she sees her chair propped against the door keeping it locked. She is like, WHAT THE HELL? On the chair is a note that says, "Get out so you won't get hurt!" or something like that. She freaks, goes into her bro's room and wakes him and says there's someone in the house. No one is believing her/them! Later in the movie, the girl and her best friend are walking to the house after school... the daughter looks up and says she saw someone in the attic. The friend blows her off. They go inside, the daughter hears something, walks towards the dining room and turns back to the friend. The friend is Gone. All the sudden the dining room doors open and a bunch of kids are there for a surprise b-day party for her. Her boyfriend is there and drinking. The best friend is drinking as well. The boyfriend goes into the attic with the daughter to get some action. The dad walks in on him and the boyfriend goes home. The best friend walks up stairs to the attic a little later to "get some" she walks up the stairs.. as she gets to the top she says, "Oh Hi!" Then is grabbed into the attic. SHe screamed but no one could hear cause the music. At the end you see the creepy cop watching the house... the kids are at home alone. Something happens that makes the kids try to leave, but the doors are locked?! Mysteriously the boyfriend shows up inside and scares the daughter. She asked how he got in and he said the basement was open. So it's the daughter, son and b/f. The kids are freaking out for some reason and try to break the window to get out of the house. They can't break the window. The Handy man had put that plastic on them with was shatter proof. In the mean time the dad is at the Realtor office trying to figure out why he got a note on the front door that says they'll be evicted if the rent isn't paid. The rent Was paid, so the dad went to straighten things out. The realtor says, I am sorry for the mix up but you are paid up to date and we didn't put a note on your door. The dad says OK and starts to walk out. Then he turns back and says, "Oh yeah, thank you for the handy man. He's doing a great job!" The realtor looks confused. He said, "We didn't hire a handy man!" The dad flies out of the office and zooms home. He speeds past the cop watching their house. Gets to the door and goes to unlock it. The key does nothing. Then you see the handy man in the attic pull this lever that releases all the locks on the house and the door comes unlocked. The handyman has the whole house rigged. He got into the daughters room through her closet... he had all kinds of passages and killing machines set up so they'd go off at the pull of a lever. Anyway... the handyman gets killed by the daughter and son.
