Hi,
I replaced my old Lennox thermostat with a new Honeywell RTH 70000. Since the old thermostat had an emergency heat switch and two mercury tubes I thought that it was a multi-stage pump and this was the correct thermostat.
However, since I have installed the new one, it takes forever to cool the house. It will cool but the ac will run for about an hour to take it down one degree.
The wiring on the old one was: Connected to New:
C C
G G
Y1 Y
O O/B
R R
W1 AUX

There was also a loose wire that was not connected to anything that I left unconnected.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate any help!
Thanks,
Punky

I forgot to add that the outside unit is a Lennox HP 29030-1p. Thanks!

Sounds like you may have other problems, does the A/C cool when it is running? Or are you getting warm air when it is in the cooling mode?
