Where track lighting transformer connects to flexible monorail light fixture wher there are 5 12v lights one side of connection is getting very hot.I have had a issues with this unit before.Have checked the line voltage seems a little low 118v and the output from the transformer is 9.8-10.8.I have also changed the transformer and still experience the connection getting hot.The track lights are Ikea radiums.
Thank you

For a nominal 120 volt system, 118 volts is fine. Which side of the connection is hot?

The webpage for this product explains that halogen lamps get hot and to keep each lamp 8 " away from other objects.

Wire conducts heat just as well as electricity. If the connection is not loose causing the heat due to a poor connection, perhaps the heat is from one of the lamps.
