Hi,

Great answer , but can they report me to a credit reporting agency?
If I don't pay them? I heard this practice is called re-casting... they buy old
Accounts, which have been written off by the original account owner.
I have an account with the same bank who issued the 22years ago, why would
Give me new credit , I have a few accounts that use this
Same bank... whats up with that. This has never turned up on my credit report
Nor have I ever been contacted until now.

Zombie Debt Collectors, purchase old debts of pennies on the dollar, and than tries to collect.

Not sure where you are, In England if a debt has not been active in over 6 years then they cannot collect on it. Active meaning that they have been actively trying to collect the debt at some time within the last 6 years.

You could have a case of 'abandoned debt' that is worth looking into.
