My wife and I are about to begin the divorce process. We have 2 children, ages 4 & 18months and have been married for 4 years. Due to our work schedules we basically share time 50/50 with the kids and have "agreed" that we will both be looking for Joint Physical custody. However, we both have completely different views on what to except in terms of Child support... she believes that $600 -$800 a month in child support, keeping her leased vehicle that I currently pay for (and is in my name), & having me pay a majority of the upcoming Daycare beginning in September, is in her future while I am expecting a far less amount. I have begun to fill out the Financial statement and no matter what I do, I keep coming up with a net loss after all expenses/liabilities are subtracted from my gross yearly income of $50k. I am scared out of my mind that there is a chance I might need to add another substantial debt to what I already cannot afford, despite already working 2 jobs.
My wife, despite working 25-30 per week, makes very little money ($10k last year) and I feel that there is a chance that she can walk away with the money and car that she is looking for. Is that in any way possible?

Women generally have all the power in the courts in respects to custody, which is disgusting, but true. It is very possible she can likely get whatever she wants. Have all your ducks in a row, cross your T's and dot you I's and hope for the best. Good luck...
