All of my records have been destroyed. I need to get copies of my birth certificate, social security card, in order to get my driver's license. I was born in a different state than I am currently living in now. I am being told that I can get it from the court house but I have to come in person if I don't have an ID. This is next to impossible. There has got to be another way. Does anyone have any ideas?

What about going to the hospital or court house city that you were born in?

I just had the same problem a few months back. I am from Kentucky and live in Ohio. My aunt walked into the vital statistics office and walked out with mine in 15 minutes. Yes she had to show her I.D. and it also show that she was the one that picked it up. A clerk on the phone told me that I could come and get it with out I.D. but I was afraid to drive the 3 hours to find out that I couldn't. They also suggested that iIbring anyone with I.D. and they could get it for me. Hope this helps.

Birth card? Is this like a birth certificate? What country are you in?
Do you have a parent or other close relative who can vouch for you?
