Hi I'm a bit confused and was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem.. My cycle is usually a 35 cylce. I ovulated around the week of the 18 June using the home ovulating kits and had light spotting for a couple of days on the 27, 28 and 29 June. My period should have come on the 6 June it is now the 16 June and still nothing. I did two HPT which were both negative and a +/- blood test today which was negative. I have had sore boobs with a burning sensation on and off, going to the toilet more than usual and a bit of bloating. Is there any chance at all that I could be still pregnant but it is still to early to detect.. have been trying to conceive for 7 months now..

Thanks

Sure, it's possible but blood tests are usually quite accurate, especially after a missed period. I would suggest having another blood test done in a couple of weeks just to be sure though. Sometimes you can develop symptoms if you are very anxious about becoming pregnant but hopefully that's not the case for you! The best thing you can do is to just treat yourself as if you were pregnant right now, just in case, and have that second blood test done. Which type of blood test did they perform... this could make a difference.

It sounds to me like you actually might be getting ready to start your period. Bloating is an obvious sign of your period, and sore breasts also. Some people experience sore breasts before their period due to the extra hormones your body puts out when you are getting ready to start.

The frequent urination doesn't really fall into this category, but there are numerous reasons you could be using the bathroom often.

Stress and diet, along with some other things, can delay your period. I would wait a week, and if you don't start, take another HPT. If it comes out negative, I would go to the doctor to see if you can find out what's going on here. :)

It sounds like your doctors performed a qualitative hcg blood test which only confirm whether the pregnancy hormone is present and they give you a yes or no answer; so basically these are about as accurate as a HPT. I would ask for a quantitative blood test to be done; These tell the exact amount of hcg in the blood and because it can detect even trace amounts of hcg, it is a very accurate test.

Great! I really hope it comes out positive for yah, you will probably have to wait a day or so for the results though but they will be much more accurate! Good luck to yah!
