I am 16 and I want to be emancipated and I only have one parent so its harder and I waz wondering if she still had to know about it because it say I need one parental agreement... :(

What are the grounds for your wanting emancipation? Can you financially support yourself while finishing your schooling if you are emancipated? Do you have a place to live, transportation to and from school, ability to provide for your medical care? If you can't provide good answers to these questions then your chances are slim to none.

If you want to be emancipated, you can do it without parental agreement through the court system if you can prove that they can't give you one of the three needs: food, shelter, and clothing. You also have to prove that you have a steady legal income, can provide your own residence which you pay for yourself, and that you can pay your bills and buy essentials like food and hygiene materials including toilet paper/paper towels/etc.

If you want to move in with someone else like a friend, that's not emancipation. You would need to get a guardian transfer which means that you need someone else over 18 who has a job ( with residence and are able to pay bills and support you) to be your guardian that's not your parent. You can get it by having the one parent sign their rights over to the other person or you can get it done through the court system by proving that your parent can't provide food, shelter, and/or clothing.

To answer your question directly: Your parent does have to know and you can't just forge the signature because it either needs to be notarized or it needs to be done at your local courthouse.
