Its been along time since Ive had to do a percentage word problem. the question is... What percent of Samantha's earnings is withheld for taxes? (She receives a check for $75 after working 15 hours at $6.00 oer hour.) I don't need an answer I just need to know how to set it up.. Thanks!:D

15 hours times 6 dollars = 90 dollars
subtract amount paid 75 dollars
remainder is held for taxes 15 dollars
Turn this into a fraction 15 over 90 and reduce to lowest common denominator 1/6, divide the top number by the bottom and you will get .17 convert to a percentage or 17% withheld for taxes.

The researcher states that there were 76 words on the test, but the highest score in the table is 70. Speculate on the reason for this apparent discrepancy. What do you think?
