I Just Bought A New Honeywell thermostat the round plain one I have 8 wires though I recently discovered the two yellow wires and I have the following wires
2 Yellow
1 Red
1 Orange
1 Purple/Brown
1 Green
1 Blue
1 White
I Only Need 4 wires it says though in the directions the R-Rc-W-Y-G What Do I Do Please Help...

You should Verify insde Unit where wires attached, Most common I see used is, red- common, white-heat, green-fan, and yellow or blue for cool.
At the Start of Heating and Air Conditioning, there is good info in detail.

All those extra wires may mean a heat pump. See the sticky at the top of the forum. That thermostat may not work with one.
