I have a 12.5 hp Murray riding mower that refused to start the other day (just clicked at me). After a few minutes of reading on this forum I got it started by jumping it off. After shutting it off it won't restart.. The clicking returns and jumping it off is the only way to get it restarted. The ignition and soloniod (sp) are good and the batt is fully charged. I am thinking that the batt isn't charging or the starter is on its last leg.. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Thanks!

J.

I had the same problem with mine.I was told that the coil isn't the problem here what I was told to do.the single wire that pluges in under the coil disconnect it and try to startit.if it starts go to the seat lift the seat up and unplug the connection you will see two holes where the wire plugs fit.look between the holes there is a piece of plastic that separate the hole take a knife and pull the plastic out there is a spring under the plastic remove it and plug the socket back.now replace the single wire back in the coil and try to start it.it sure worked for me starts every time

I will def give this a try tonight! I want to make sure it isn't the starter before I spend $115 on a new one.
