I have a goodman gmp-150 unit,it keeps burning the indoor unit transformer.Can someone help me please? Thanks

You need to find the item that is pulling excessive current. It could be the wiring especially if it is going outside to the A/C unit. From time to time they do get cut by a trimmer or dog. One thing you can do is to put a fuse inline with the wires for the transformer. This way you can test circuits and the fuse will blow instead of the transformer burning up.

Check your low votage circuit. Look at the 2 wires going for air handler to outdoor unit. Maybe weedeater or dog got into them. Check the coil on the contactor. It may be bad. I would suggest putting an inline fuse in the transformer line. Fuses are cheaper than transformers. Good Luck. Post back with results

Let me just throw this out there as a situation that I ran into a few years ago, I found that mice or varmits had chewed the insulation off the stat wires in the attic and it would wipe out the transformer or fuses, the wires would barely touch and cause intermitant shorts. Check the obvious first .Mike
