I recently installed a Chamberlain 1/2HP chain drive model 248730 garage door opener motor. It was a single button remote, single button garage mounted opener. I simply installed the motor on my existing Sears Craftsman setup. Everything works, including the 3 button garage mounted opener, light & single button remote.
But I can't get the keyless entry pad to work. I've tried hitting the purple "learn" button & entering the 4 digit PIN, but it doesn't seem to register. Note, there is no # button on this keyless entry, just 1 through 9, 0 & enter. Also note, there were 2 wires - blue & green - coming off the garage mounted button that we didn't attach anywhere.
Of course, I've no idea where the manual is for the keyless entry. So, any ideas how to reset this unit & sync with the new motor?
Bonus? Can my old (3 button) remote 139.53779 be used with this new motor (remote is Chamberlain 950CD). Thanks.

Hello.

The keyless trip is a momentary short on the wires just like the manual button is. All the motor sees is the trip so change back to your old wireless receiver and trans. The system will work the way it did before using the new motor.

Good Luck

Go to chamberlin.com (http://chamberlin.com) They have section telling you how to reprogram wireless entry. If I remember you hold the learn button for 8 sec then put in new 4 digit code and hit enter. I believe that it erased the code on the remote car control and you need to reprogram it as well. Chamberlin makes sear/craftsman as well as others. Good Luck

If this doesn't work get back to me as I have set of instruction somewhere here that I can find to tell you more

I think esquire is right, 4 digits then enter,
I will have to verify, but want to tell you before you push button 8 seconds, I will check immediately after this post. I think that clears all codes. I think if you push learn until it flashes, then 4 digits , then enter.
Erasing all may be desirable, to eleminate unknown programmed remotes not accounted for.
I think the link he provides is the one that's very helpful.
