My hair color is naturally black but I colored my hair brown and with some highlights, for like a year, then after I wanted to go back to black hair so I dyed my hair all black.
Now I want to dye it light golden brown and I did but only my roots showed up the golden brown, and the rest is stilll like blackHow can I make it the color I want without going to the salon cause I'm short on cash and the salons are realllyyyy expensive? Cause bleaching yor hair can damage a lot. SHould I use a blonde hair dye?
LOL sorryyy so longg and confusingg but I need some adviceeee I want my hair golden brownn -__-:(

Well... the reason your roots only took is because its new growth... when you dyed your hair black was it permanent or a rinse? If it was permanent your not going to be able to dye brown... you have to wait until it grows out... my hair use to be brown and I dyed it jet black and I can't re dye it because its permanent... if you go to a salon they will have to bleach your hair to get the black out and not only that when they put the new color over it it migght turn green... sorry

Green?? omg-__- oh and yes it was permannent black,it was natrual soft black
Mannn I don't want to wait till my hair grows out.
Do you have to go to the salon to bleach hair?
Can you like use a blonde dye to take the black away?will it work?so then I can turn my hair to brown -_-
Of course that would seriously damage my hair

Sweetie, if you want go from black to golden brown, you will need to pre-lighten your hair and then apply the desired color. Anything other than that will just result in a red/orange shade. To avoid another hair disaster, you should consider getting it professionally done.

I want to dye my hair golden brown with blone highlights too but I have never done it so I don't know how to go about doing it and I can't afford having it professionally done. What do I do?
