I have a 1998 Ford F150 - 4.6L V8 104,000 miles

The air conditioning was recharged last summer and worked fine all season. This year, the compressor will not switch on. I had the coolant charge checked and it is still full.
All fuses are OK.
I don't have any experience in auto AC, but since this is my only ride, taking it somewhere for troubleshooting is inconvenient & expensive. Anyone have any troubleshooting tips?

. Check connections, continuity, and action of the Compressor Clutch Relay. There should be continuity between the C and D terminals. There should be continuity between the A and B terminals, when power and ground are connected to the C and D terminals. There should be no continuity, when power is disconnected.
