I found a red lump on the bottom of the penis shaft. I have a few ideas of what it may be but I am not sure. I know its not an std. its red and darker red a the top. I thought it could be a zit but it didn't pop, and it may be an ingrown hair but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any other ideas? It doesn't hurt at all, unless I squeeze it.

It sounds to me like you have an ingrown hair, and if that's the case nothing to worry about :)

I have a similar problem. Although mine is about 1/3 up the shaft (from pupic hair) not quite sure what to think? But I have a feeling it may be an ingrown hair.

Just like anywhere else on your body, you can get acne in your groin area. It could either be an ingrown hair, or acne. But don't pick or squeeze at it, you will just cause it to get inflamed and it will get worse :)

A lot of the times it can be from heat / sweat. It could be a heat blister and a lot of the time is if its red you can pop it with a sterilized pin and blood will come out. Then over time it should heal itself up...

You are telling him to pop something on his groin with a needle, unsupervised by a doc/nurse? Big no no. Sterilized or not, he will only make it worse. That is what doctors are for, that is why they go through so many years of schooling. If it is that big of an annoyance where you think it needs to be drained, go to the doctor!

Ok... I guess that makes more sense... I did write that post in a rush.

WHAT!!
That can introduce infection, serious infection. You can't adequately sterilize anything without an autoclave. If you can't give good medical advice, please don't give any at all.

mikezapwnzor agrees: Just saying what I think... as the forum says, this is for suggestions from experiences most of the time, not all educated answers... *shrugs*
Puncturing with a pin is VERY bad advice. Possibly introducing infection as I previously said. We have many teens and young adults here who take what we say as perfect medical advice, if you can't give good medical advice, please refrain from giving any.
