B&W sci-fi TV episode space pilot & a female co-prisoner

Unable to remember if "The Twilight Zone" or "The Outer Limits" but it was a old Black and White Television Episode, (before color was invented).

The strong macho outer space war-pilot hero has just been captured by the enemy alien race and imprisoned on a another planet. The Alien guard that opens the rough-hewn rock of the cell door is depicted as an eight foot tall Aphid.

All American Gi-Joe with a strong motivational character is imprisoned along with a another POW on "earth's side". The small mousy female human tell of how depressingly bad things are going back home. The ace pilot attempts to escape through the ceiling where a crab-like bug mauls his lower leg.

Over time the ace-pilot hero hopes wane - as the young woman is being changed into one of "them", (giant alien aphid). She gets more and more depressed at her slow transformation into something 'alien'.

To cheer her up, he tell her of a major secret offense against the enemy space aliens and she smirks, gets up and goes to the door. Smiling, she turns around and explains to him that they are not changing her, "they're changing me back."

They broke the pilot's will by tactical deception and gained information of the enemy's, (earth's), upcoming battle plans.

Despite what you say about this being an old B&W episode, I strongly believe this is an episode titled "The Quality of Mercy" from the second incarnation of "The Outer Limits" from its first season in 1995. It starred Robert Patrick from "The X-Files" and Nicole de Boer from "Deep Space Nine" and was written by Brad Wright from "Stargate SG-1". The plot summary at Wikipedia matches all your details.

Ah... But if you read the top of the wikipedia article you will also discover a link to a Twilight Zone episode of the same name, and it aired in 1961.

True, but that Twilight Zone episode has a different storyline. Genre fans will delight to know that it starred Dean Stockwell (of Blue Velvet and Quantum Leap fame) and Leonard Nimoy.
