I've been living for the past year with a family member in New Jersey. I never signed a lease, I'm just renting a room in her house. Things have gotten bad between us, and on Fri she informed me that she wanted me and my belongings out by Sun. Can she do this, or do I have any rights here, say a 30 day period where I can pack and make plans. And if I were to leave, but left my possessions to be gotten at a later date, are they protected?

If you get kicked out legally you have no rights or protection to leave any property behind. When you go your stuff goes too. She must give you a 30 day notice since you have established yourself as a resident, lease or not. However, it is her home and you admit things are bad so why would you want to stay when your welcome is shot? When people get angry they can do some pretty bad things. If some of your stuff disappeared you would have to prove in court that she caused the disappearance.

Thanks for the response, the reason I need to stay the additional period is so I can pack, make plans, find somewhere to go. I came here from out of state, it's a long story, but I really don't have many connections here.

If you are actually renting, paying rent, you are on a month to month rental. Assuming your rent is paid, they have to give you a 30 day notice.
