My Kenmore Heavy Duty Series 60 washer stopped spinning and draining on all settings. No noise, humming or motor sound, just stopped dead. Did check to make sure contact when lid closes was not the problem and it is not. Any clues? Thanks.

The lid switch could mak contact but test the switch to make sure it has not gone bad. Also it will not spin if the water has not been pumped out. I 'm thinking the pump is bad. I think this unit has a balance switch on it as well that will interrupt the cycle if load gets out of balance. Check load. Check that switch. Good luck. Post back with results

Thanks for your response. I am not sure where the balance switch is, but will check it out. I tried pushing a pencil down in the lid switch but it still will not spin.

Pushing in on switch does not insure the switch is good. You are going to have to get to the switch itself to test it. The imbalance switch is located inside the cabinet on left side as you look at it from the back.
