Hello:

Is there a time when our work will be done and all the questions will have been answered? How will we know when that time happens?

You know excon, the quest for knowledge is neverending. So, I think we will be stuck to this keyboard and this monitor till the beer runs out.

Maybe when we reach the technological singularity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_singularity)?

Oh yeah, as predicted by the point when the mayans couldn't be bothered to write anymore? :)

Well In my opinion just about all the questions have been answered. For the most part I think we see the same questions day in and day out (with minor variations) and we provide the same answers over and over. I think 5 minutes searching the forums or even googling the problem will find the answer to 95% of the questions asked.

Hello again:

In other words, we're done, and can be replaced by autobots. Then, let's go play golf. I received a PM the other day telling me that I'm nuts for spending as much time here as I do answering questions. Maybe he's right.

Actually upon further review Scott may be right. The repeat factor is incredibly high. Maybe we could write a bot.

excon, I just bought a new driver, where are we playing? Hint: I believe I may at the other end of North America from you.

I sort of want to stop answering questions and just correct basic spelling and grammar mistakes...

Their/there/they're
Its/it's
Whether/weather
The list goes on...

Worth repeating:

I think 5 minutes searching the forums or even googling the problem will find the answer to 95% of the questions asked.

I like this answer.
The Last Question -- Isaac Asimov (http://www.multivax.com/last_question.html)

But we could always go with the fact that it is not possible to answer every question because we will not agree on the correct answer.

Hi ex'

It depends what you term as work! Life's about living to the full (in between the golf that is) whether it's working a job or just doing your own thing. There will always be the question and answer routine it's human nature, people will always disagree with what ever answer is given to various questions no matter how clear it might be, if it isn't what they want to hear, then your wrong and so it goes around again...

Many of us think that we already know all the answers but of course we don't, we never will, there are many who would have us believe all manner of prfices, but in reality they have no idea just like the rest of us.. the only true statement to all of the many questions is that we were born and we shall die... that is 100% true, this we know it cannot be altered or changed.

It's all the bit's in between which cause the problem.

No one will ever know or is meant to know all of those complicated questions that have been going around mankind since the beginning of time, lets face it, if it were common knowledge do you honestly think we'd all be hanging around here paying upteen bills etc... not likely... PLANET EARTH WOULD HAVE A VACANCY SIGN SHOWING cause no one would be here
