This is my second offence, although the first offence I was not charged. First offence happened over seven years ago. The total amount of money stolen was over $15,000. Refunds to debit cards and credit cards.

I intelligently planned out how I could steal the money and not get caught.
All in all, I got caught and paid back all the money that was stolen. I even received a letter from that place of employment and they said if I paid back the money they would not charge me.

Anyway I have a court date set. I'm just curious what is the likeliness of my case being dropped? And what are the possible punishments for this crime?

If you have a court date, you've been charged. I think the likeliness of it being dropped are nil. I think they may put you in jail. I certainly think they're going to TRY, so I'd hire the best lawyer I could to stop 'em.

I'm not clear here whether the $15K was from the second offence, the first or in total. I'm also not clear whether the amount paid back was from the first offense.the second or the total.

But I agree with excon, as you admit you planned out this theft and committed the crime over time. This is not an impulse thing. I think they will try to put you in jail and most likely succeed.

I agree with Gem and Con, lets hope this time you learn your lesson. Its apparent you are not talented at this crime anyway, so what's the loss if you quit while you can. Hopefully you will apply your intelligence elsewhere.

Good luck
