Can any one tell me where I can cash my taxes if I don't want to deposit it into my bank? Can I sign it over to some one? So that they can put it in their bank account and then take the cash out? Its my first time doing taxes...

You can take it to a bank and cash it, ( proper ID and pay a fee)
Normally they will not allow someone other than the payee to cash the check. The person it is written too, has to present it with proper ID.

Why don't you want it direct deposited, but you can just take the check into your bank and cash it.

Also there are places called "check cashing stores" that do nothing but cash checks.

I am sorry but something about this just raises those red flags, what is your problem of cashing it at your own bank?

You see I don't know if I owe money to my bank... and if I do I don't want to deposit the check and then the bank to freeze my account so I wouldn't be able to get it out... Does that make any sense?

Yes, that makes sense.

However, you CAN open another checking account at ANOTHER bank and have the refund(s) sent to the new bank.

Just a thought!

You CAN take it to a third party and sign it over to him/her for cash, but they may have trouble cashing it unless they have a business account ot they are related to you.
